About Us

The seed of Masjid Ar-Rahman was planted in 2014 when a few community members of Northeast Columbia, South Carolina established a muṣallá (a space for prayer) in the Belleclave neighbourhood for the morning and the evening prayer in congregation. 

Attendees of the Belleclave muṣallá formed a non-profit 509 (c3) organization, Hidayah Foundation, in 2019. Hidayah Foundation is registered with the State of South Carolina as a non-profit religious organization and has a tax-exempt status approved by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The objectives of Hidayah Foundation is to establish a mosque and Islamic center at a convenient location in Northeast Columbia to help Muslims living in the greater Columbia area fulfill their religious obligations and raise their family accordingly.

By the grace of Allah, Hidayah Foundation acquired two adjacent properties on Percival Rd. in 2020 and 2021. The combined land area of these properties (3307 and 3309 Percival Rd) is over eight acres. We moved our muṣallá to one of the buildings at 3307 Percival Rd in June, 2021. In January, 2022, we formally named our prayer space as Masjid Ar-Rahman and our Percival Rd facility as Hidayah Islamic Center. Masjid Ar-Rahman is open for five daily prayers, the Friday Jum’a prayer, and a weekly Halaqa on Saturday evening.
